Drawing Compound Angles on a Stave Bucket In SketchUp

Drawing Compound Angles on a Stave Bucket In SketchUp

In this video, I designed a Stave Wooden Bucket that I ended up building for a client to go with their bar cart. The key to a stave bucket is that each stave is tapered from top to bottom and is angled in such a way that all the staves close up tight when assembled.  I used SketchUp to determine the proportions of the bucket and the compound angles as well as how much the bucket tapered from top to bottom. I then determined what angle and taper I needed to set the table saw up so I could cut the compound angles needed to construct the bucket. I even had a little fun drawing a rope handle, even though it was probably a moot point, and I should have used a different technique in the end.
